ProSweets Cologne 2023 - Special Edition - convinces across the board
High number of foreign visitors, great interest in new technologies, sensors, energy efficiency Return to the usual January date and own hall in 2024
ProSweets Cologne is the most important and most effective marketing platform for the suppliers of the sweets and snacks industry. This year's Special Edition also clearly confirmed this. Alongside ISM 2023, the international supplier fair was postponed from the January to the April and the unique format of the Special Edition also demonstrated its competence and effectiveness. After three intense trade fair days, the conclusion was thus extremely positive: "The producers of sweets and snacks and the supplier industry only form such a cohesive unit across the entire value chain here in Cologne," explained Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH. "A very high number of interested parties are already on location because of the parallelism with ISM alone. Then, there are those manufacturers, who also don't want to miss out on the special format of ProSweets Cologne. Because it offers an overall view of the solutions for the most important demands of the industry as well as the key trends and of course direct contact to the solution providers. The fact that everyone is looking forward to a regular ProSweets Cologne in its own hall in January 2024 was also clearly tangible at the trade fair.
From the exhibitors' point of view, above all the high quality of the visitors that largely comprised of executives and production managers was decisive for the positive assessment of the trade fair.
The trade fair duo, ISM and ProSweets Cologne - Special Edition, the leading international trade fair for sweets and snacks recorded more than 25,000 visitors from 135 countries. 72 percent came from abroad.
Furthermore, with special measures like a well-attended "Matchmaking Breakfast" and an attractive trade fair lounge, the trade fair offered the ideal opportunity for in-depth networking.
The dominating themes at the stands were energy and resource efficiency as well as sustainability within the complex process chain through to packaging. A particular focus also lay on the segment comprising of raw materials, ingredients and semi-finished products. There was a significantly higher number of exhibitors here this year. In addition to the topic of sustainability and products that convince with their taste and technology, the implementation of special raw materials to achieve exceptional sensory impressions was also discussed here. The lecture programme of the Expert Stage also covered this topic, as well as the Guided Tours that were carried out by the experts of DLG.
With 119 suppliers from 23 countries, ProSweets Cologne covers all of the main exhibition sections from packaging materials and machines, to plants and automation, through to food safety and operating and auxiliary equipment. In addition to leading companies, numerous smaller and medium-sized special suppliers also took part, who are so important in terms of the demand from the sweets and snacks industry. The area available in the passage between Halls 4 and 5 and the Central Boulevard of the Southern fair grounds was completely fully-booked this year.
Next year, ProSweets Cologne will be staged in its own hall again, the surface and infrastructure of which will also be geared up to demonstrate for instance large production and packaging lines again. Suppliers have already reserved corresponding space so they can present their machines and systems in operation to their customers live.
As usual, ProSweets Cologne will be staged parallel to ISM. The contents of the event programme will continue to be intermeshed in order to further extend the synergies between the two trade fairs.
ProSweets Cologne and ISM competently cover the entire value chain for sweets and snacks and with their unique offer once again turn Cologne into the international supplier and trade hub of the entire industry.
