INTERGASTRA 2026 has impressively retained its title as a flagship event. With more than 80,000 visitors in attendance, it demonstrated the powerful appeal it enjoys within the hospitality industry. Even without the Culinary Olympics, which will return to Stuttgart’s trade fair grounds in 2028, the trade fair has presented a programme of specific themes that caters to a wide variety of groups and thus provided the necessary guidance.
“INTERGASTRA 2026 has demonstrated how trade fairs need to adapt in order to stay relevant: with themed environments, professional guidance, opportunities for dialogue and concrete solutions for everyday implementation,” explains Stefan Lohnert, President of Messe Stuttgart. “We are not just aiming to educate the industry, but to actively shape it too.”
Dr. Hans-Ulrich Kauderer, Chairman of DEHOGA Baden-Württemberg, also emphasised the importance of format: “The positive response from visitors and the superb atmosphere at INTERGASTRA have highlighted the growing sense of optimism in our industry. The trade fair and its innovative programme came at exactly the right time for those businesses looking to further cement their success. Following five successful days in Stuttgart, one thing holds true: following a difficult few years for the hotel, restaurant and catering sectors, opportunities are now opening up. And INTERGASTRA has certainly communicated this effectively.”
A significant increase in the number of visitors and exhibitors from Bavaria and Hesse further emphasised the importance of INTERGASTRA.
Klaus Vollmer, Regional Guild Master of the Baden-Württemberg Confectioners’ Guild, was impressed: “INTERGASTRA 2026 once again presented a superb opportunity for those in the confectionery sector to meet and connect. It fully exceeded our expectations. The successful combination of confectionery, coffee and vending was another triumph and provided trade visitors with plenty of valuable insights.”
The next INTERGASTRA will be held from 12 to 16 February 2028.
