展会报告(Show Reports):
GELATISSIMO 2026, the leading trade fair for artisanal ice-cream north of the Alps, has impressively demonstrated that it is far more than simply an event about artisanal ice-cream. It has reinvented itself – with fresh inspiration, new partnerships, a unique programme of accompanying events and plenty of opportunity to learn from the very best. Messe Stuttgart opened its doors from 7 to 11 February 2026 and provided visitors with a platform for inspiration, innovation and top-quality products from the world of artisanal ice-cream.
Synergy effects created with INTERGASTRA
INTERGASTRA, one of the most important trade fairs for the hotel, restaurant and catering sectors, took place alongside GELATISSIMO. “With GELATISSIMO, we are providing the HoReCa industry with a unique platform that highlights the latest gelato trends and promotes professional dialogue. The synergies created through the partnership between INTERGASTRA and GELATISSIMO have left an impression on all visitors,” says Stefan Lohnert, President of Messe Stuttgart. Bringing these two events together provided more than 80,000 visitors with unique added value. While GELATISSIMO focuses on the craftsmanship of artisanal ice-cream, INTERGASTRA has enhanced the shared portfolio with top trends from the hotel and restaurant sectors, technology and food service. One particular highlight was the FocusCOFFEE area, which provided a wealth of inspiration thanks to a Barista School, the Roasting Village, and numerous tastings and practical workshops.
Top-quality competitions
The competitions held during GELATISSIMO proved to be a real highlight, impressively showcasing the superb craftsmanship this industry has to offer. The 6th GELATISSIMO Cup, hosted by big industry names such as Dario Fontanelle, Stefano Lucchini and Sergio Dondoli, is regarded as one of the most challenging competitions of its kind this side of the Alps – and took place this year in cooperation with CONPAIT, the Confederation of Italian Confectioners, headed by President Angelo Musolino. Participants went head-to-head creating gelato in the categories of Bergamot (bergamot fruit from the Reggio Calabria region of Italy), Tiramisu and Bacio. Angelo Musolino was impressed: “We are delighted to be here in Stuttgart and to have the opportunity to meet with the next big stars, who have committed to learning from the professionals with such gratitude and enthusiasm. It is an honour to be able to share our knowledge and expertise and to accompany them on their journey. Here, at GELATISSIMO, we have found our family – a community that shares our passion for authentic Italian gelato and confectionery culture. We are proud and grateful to be part of it all, and are already looking forward to returning again next year.”
The German qualifying round of the Gelato Europe Cup 2027 also generated quite a buzz. Held live at GELATISSIMO for the first time, it was organised by Sergio Colalucci and Stefano Lucchini, leading figures from the Gelato e Cultura organisational committee for the Gelato World Cup. Contestants put their skills to the test during three challenging disciplines: “Mystery Box”, “Decorated Ice-Cream Bowl” and “Ice-Cream Cake”. The winner will team up with a confectioner to represent Germany at the final in Rimini.
Lifetime achievement: Recognition for outstanding individuals
An emotional highlight at GELATISSIMO 2026 was the presentation of the lifetime achievement award. Together with Editrade publishing house and ITALCAM, the Italian-German Chamber of Commerce, the trade fair honoured Augusta Corte Levou, an influential ambassador for Italian gelato culture in Germany for more than 55 years, and Marco Venturino, Ligurian gelato master and winner of multiple international awards.
Robert Widmann Trophy: Chocolate perfection
Another highlight from the successful trade fair duo of GELATISSIMO and INTERGASTRA was the Robert Widmann Trophy, organised by the Landesinnungsverband des Konditorenhandwerks Baden-Württemberg (Baden-Württemberg Regional Association of Confectioners’ Guilds). Taking inspiration from the “World of Chocolate” motto, participants were asked to create a showpiece – either a cake with a topper or a topper with integrated cake. “Competitions like the Robert Widmann Trophy not only provide a platform for showcasing superb talent, they inspire the entire industry,” says Klaus Vollmer, Regional Guild Master of the Baden-Württemberg Confectioners’ Guild. “We are very proud of everyone who has contributed to the success of this competition and are delighted to have the opportunity to surprise and impress INTERGASTRA visitors with fresh ideas and new perspectives each year.”
The next GELATISSIMO will take place from 12 to 16 February 2028 on the grounds of Messe Stuttgart.
