展会报告(Show Reports):
The industry get-together impresses with technological depth, practical applications and vivid innovation dialog
With a clear focus on sensor, measurement and testing technology, SENSOR+TEST proved its role as the leading international trade fair and central industry get-together in Nuremberg from 6 to 8 May 2025. Amidst global challenges, it demonstrated the industry's performance and innovative strength and how important these are for the development of new technologies. 348 exhibitors from 24 nations, around 5,000 high-quality trade visitors, 546 congress participants and a total of around 8,000 trade fair participants used the three exhibition days to exchange information on current developments, practical applications and future technology trends.
Under the motto ‘Welcome to the Innovation Dialog’, the international sensor and measurement technology industry met at SENSOR+TEST 2025 in Nuremberg from 6 to 8 May. Three days full of innovations, technical discussions and ideas for future developments – exhibitors, trade visitors and organizer drew a thoroughly positive conclusion. 348 exhibitors presented their latest developments and solutions in sensor, measurement and testing technology. Elena Schultz, Managing Director of AMA Service GmbH, is delighted: ‘We can look back on a vital and exciting SENSOR+TEST 2025, where competence and expertise were the main focus. We welcomed around 5,000 visitors, 348 exhibitors from 24 countries, who showcased their innovations on around 5,200 m² of exhibition space, as well as 546 participants at SMSI 2025 – Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference. A very good, solid result.’ SENSOR+TEST has once again demonstrated that sensor, measurement and testing technology are essential elements for the development of important future technologies.
Christoph Kleye, Managing Director of SonoQ GmbH and Chairman of the Exhibitor Advisory Board, also confirms the exhibitors' satisfaction: ’We came to SENSOR+TEST with different expectations and were pleasantly surprised. Although the number of contacts has fallen slightly, the quality of the discussions was higher than at any time since the pandemic. We are observing a clear change in visitor behaviour: they are coming with specific tasks and are specifically looking for solutions that complement or expand the functionality of their products or product range.’
Future-oriented topics at the centre of the trade fair
The focus was not only on personal exchanges with customers and business partners from all over the world, but also on future-oriented topics such as energy efficiency, climate protection, sustainability and artificial intelligence. Special topics were ‘condition monitoring’ and ‘innovative calibration’. Live demonstrations, lecture series and practical examples impressively illustrated how AI, digital calibration strategies and predictive maintenance are already helping to make industrial processes more sustainable, safer and more efficient. ‘With SENSOR+TEST 2025, we have succeeded in sending an important signal to the industry. The exhibitors impressively demonstrated the importance of sensor and measurement technology for key future topics in all areas,’ summarises Elena Schultz. Sustainability, digitalisation and artificial intelligence played an important role in this – whether in energy-efficient sensor systems, intelligent diagnostic tools or cloud-based calibration solutions. ‘SENSOR+TEST is a mirror of technological progress – with a clear responsibility for industry, society and the future,’ emphasizes Elena Schultz.
Forums as technology marketplaces
An extensive forum program with top-class presentations has been a hallmark of SENSOR+TEST for many years. once again, there were two presentation forums in halls 1 and 2. In hall 1, exhibitors presented new developments, products and application possibilities on all three days. ‘The presentations were very well attended, which shows the high level of acceptance of the topics on offer,’ says Elena Schultz.
‘Innovative Calibration’ and “Condition Monitoring” were the focus of the forum in hall 2. This concept was very attractive thanks to its integration into a centrally located and openly designed marketplace. “We wanted to create a space here that supports the exchange between experts,” explains Elena Schultz.
SMSI 2025: Discourse between research and application
Parallel to SENSOR+TEST, the SMSI 2025 – Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference – took place in Nuremberg. It impressed with over 170 scientific contributions and exciting discourses between research and application, and brought together national and international representatives from research, science, industry and government institutions. ‘SMSI 2025 not only provided an excellent platform for exchanging the latest research results, but also impressed with high-class presentations, poster sessions and science slams,’ said conference chair Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schmid (TU Vienna), who was delighted with the event. SMSI bridges the gap between basic research and application – and enables genuine knowledge transfer. The focus was on particularly topical issues such as AI in diagnostics, digital metrology and energy monitoring.
Young talents meet strong networks
Formats such as the Young Engineers Day, the networking plaza in hall 2 and the Young Innovators joint stand showed how targeted promotion of young talents and professional exchange on an equal footing work. The combination of best practice, product innovations and direct contact opportunities made SENSOR+TEST an attractive venue for cooperation and new ideas.
In this way, SENSOR+TEST also actively supports young talents. The aim is to get young talents excited about sensor and measurement technology at an early stage and give them direct access to companies. ‘Innovation needs curiosity – and the courage to break new ground,’ Elena Schultz is convinced.
2026 with even more communication, competence and expertise
SENSOR+TEST 2025 has shown how essential networked, intelligent and reliable systems are for industrial transformation.
Next year, SENSOR+TEST will take place in Nuremberg from 9 to 11 June 2026.
